Premarket Calls and Puts, October 19, 2026

Provisional plan on last nights closing chains. The 10:00 AM run confirms on live quotes.

Todays Catalysts

Semis just had their worst stretch since 2008, down 8 straight sessions into Friday, SOXX ==16 percent== and AMD ==19 percent== off highs on growing AI spending financing doubts. Broadcom led Fridays slide specifically after CEO Hock Tan warned ==capital shortages== could become AI’s next binding constraint. Premarket today shows a dip buy bounce, Nasdaq 100 futures ==+1.16 percent==, as the Black Monday chatter faded. CrowdStrike posted a record ==$333M net new ARR== last quarter, +51 percent YoY, and raised its FY27 ARR growth outlook to ==~34 percent==. Oil pulled back overnight, Brent ==−1.9 percent==, after a volatile weekend of reported strikes on Russian oil infrastructure.

Call Candidates

None cleared this run. CrowdStrike carried the best dated catalyst in the file, the record ARR print, but the stock sits below its rising 50 day ($227 vs $233) with RSI 39. A call below a falling or flat 50 day is the single mistake flagged repeatedly in the rulebook, so it is rejected on trend, not on the news.

Put Candidates

Broadcom Nov 20 ==$350 put==, provisional, closing marks. Stock closed Friday at $328.75, 50 day SMA $365.73, RSI 35, supertrend direction down (trail $370.72). Delta ==−0.53== (nearest the money among the strikes checked), IV 55 percent, spread 3.1 percent of mark, open interest 12,254, volume 1,095, bid size 133 and ask size 20. Mark $27.58, breakeven $322.42, needs a ==1.9 percent== drop from Friday’s close. Theta 1.17 percent of mark per day. Earnings not until December 9, clear of the November 20 expiry. Catalyst is the CEOs capital constraint warning from Friday, confirmed by the downtrend and the RSI still having room before oversold.

Rejected, and why

AMD, caught in the same semis selloff, down 19 percent off highs, but no company specific negative news, just sector derating. Doesn’t clear the dated catalyst bar on its own. NVDA, catalyst is today’s bullish oversold bounce, but the stock is still below its 50 day ($214 vs $223), RSI 38. A call candidate failing the trend gate even with a bullish catalyst is rejected, not stretched. APA, Tier 1 breakout screen name, uptrend confirmed (price above a rising 50 day), RSI 70 at the edge of the range, but no company specific catalyst and today’s energy sector call is bearish on falling oil. Signal is muddled, passed on it. TRGP, same breakout screen, uptrend technically intact, but technical setup alone is not a catalyst and nothing company specific was found.

The tape is set up for a mean reversion bounce in the names that got hit hardest last week, led by semis, with Brent crude easing taking a little inflation pressure off the broader risk tone. This would invalidate fast if any hyperscaler commentary this week reinforces the AI financing worry ahead of Wednesdays Meta print, or if the Persian Gulf or Ukraine oil infrastructure situation reescalates and sends oil back up.
