OD Options Desk

Live chain grading, 12:18 PM ET

A late run of the normal 10 AM confirmation slot. Read only research, no trades placed.

Today’s Trades

None cleared. Zero is the correct output on a day where the only loud catalyst in chips is an unreleased earnings print.

Gapped Past Entry

Not applicable. No candidate reached the gap check.

Rejected, and why

NVDA, AMD, TSM: trend is clean on all three, call or put thesis would work mechanically, but rejected on the gate that blocks trading an unreleased macro print. The thesis here is TSM’s Wednesday earnings report, not a confirmed event. AVGO: price sits below its own rising 50 day moving average, fails the trend gate outright. DELL, CRWD, PANW, SNOW: clean technical breakout setups, but none carry a specific dated catalyst, an earnings print, guidance change, or contract win. A technical scan alone is not a catalyst. DDOG: RSI over 73, already extended past the overbought ceiling. A separate technical screener surfaced 34 names today (mix of dip-in-uptrend calls and broken-trend puts) but every one of them expires in 7 to 11 days. The desk’s minimum days-to-expiry floor is 21, so the entire list was dead on arrival without needing a contract-by-contract check. Three names surfaced from recent insider buying, one with a CEO buying four times over three weeks, one with a CEO’s single seven figure buy, one with a two-date cluster worth eight figures combined. All three are single-digit-dollar stocks trading with 10 to 14 percent bid ask spreads live, which fails the liquidity gate before a contract is even checked.

The tape stayed set up to sell chips and buy oil into Wednesday’s TSMC print. Nothing new cleared on live quotes, the technical screener’s whole list failed on days-to-expiry alone, and the insider buys that looked interesting on paper were all too illiquid to turn into a real contract. A day with no trade costs nothing. A forced trade costs real money.
