Premarket Calls and Puts, October 8, 2026
Provisional plan on last night’s closing chains. The 10:00 AM run confirms on live quotes.
Today’s Catalysts
TSM reports September monthly sales today, a direct read through for NVDA, AVGO, AMD, and MU, the whole AI foundry complex. Overnight tape was risk off into it: small caps lagging, semis and regional banks weak, airlines the worst sector, energy the only standout gainer.
Call Candidates
None cleared every gate today.
Put Candidates
None. Nothing on today’s raw list combined a dated catalyst with a confirmed downtrend.
Rejected, and why
TSM: set a 52 week high 3 sessions ago. Gate 5, chasing a fresh high. NVDA: set a 52 week high 2 sessions ago. Gate 5. AMD: set a 52 week high 2 sessions ago, RSI 70.5. Gate 5. MU: over the $1,000 per share screening cap. AVGO: only 1.1% above its 50 day, too weak a trend to back. SMCI: earnings November 3 falls before any 21 to 60 day expiry window. Gate 7. DELL Nov 20 calls: breakeven sits above the 52 week high on every strike checked. Gate 6. Volume also too thin. GTLB Nov 20 calls: spread, open interest, and volume all below the liquidity gates. MRVL Nov 20 call: the cleanest contract on every quality gate, delta 0.58, spread 2.1%, open interest over 2,400, theta 1.1% a day, breakeven comfortably under its 52 week high. Fails purely on size relative to a standard account, not on quality.
TSM’s sales print today is the tape’s one real catalyst, with the AI hardware complex already extended into fresh highs ahead of it, the exact setup the trend rules exist to avoid chasing. The cleanest contract on the whole screen, MRVL’s Nov 20 call, would be the first name worth rechecking if it pulled back toward a smaller, more affordable strike.
